Assumed positions of Executive Vice President for Basketball Operations and General Manager for the Phoenix Suns. He will retain his Head Coach duties for the team, and his contract will be extended through 2010. Named NBA Coach of the Year in 2005. Mike also has a 4 year commitment to be an Assistant Coach of the USA National Team, including its appearance in the 2008 Peking Olympics, and was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2005 |

Charlie Slack, Cebe Price, Paul Underwood and Hal Greer were players David had the good fortune to play with. David is proud of Marshall and was privileged to have played basketball and served as the President of the student body 1957-58. His wife Mary Ann and he is now living in Clearwater Florida. | Williamson | Andy Paul | 87-88 | Started every game for Marshall as a true freshman in the 1987-88 season, alongside Tom Curry, Skip Henderson, Rodney Holden and Maurice Bryson, logging the most minutes played per game on the team. This was Marshall's last basketball team to win a conference championship and play in a post-season tournament (NIT). He averaged over 19 points, 7 rebounds and almost 11 assists per game after 13 games, but finished the season averaging about 9 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists per game. He played three games his junior season for Dana Altman and left the team after a tournament in Virginia. At the time, Andy Paul was number four on the all-time assists leader board for MU. Andy transfered to Georgetown College in Kentucky and was set to be the starting point guard for the then-No. 1 ranked NAIA school when, in mid-November, he was informed that only 35 of his 71 credit hours earned at MU (3.4 gpa) would transfer to Georgetown! Since he was already married to Betha and had one child, he quit college again and never returned, having to get on with his life and supporting his family. Despite not graduating from college, he now works as the chief financial officer for an electrical company that supports the coal mining industry in southern WV and has two sons and two daughters. His older daughter, Andi, was a First-Team All-Stater as a freshman at Harts High School in 2006, the last year before the State Board of Education closed the school, and led the Lions to the Class A State Runners-Up in softball. His older son, Paul Herbert, is an 8th grader at Harts Middle School, averaging close to 35 points per game for the undefeated Lions. |
